What is the name of your project?

There are two studies involved in my CAG project – the Kinect Project and the MBT Impacts Study.

What is/has been your role in the lab?

MSc student (2018 - 2021) and PhD student (2021 - present).

What made you interested in dementia research?

I’ve always liked working with older people. My first experience working with this population was during a field placement in college, where I facilitated functional fitness classes for older adults living in a retirement residence. Some of the people in my class had dementia, and it was always harder to include them in the exercise program, as they had difficulty following along. Over time, I learned to modify my instructions to make them more ‘dementia-friendly’. In 2012, my Grandmother was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease, which is when I decided I wanted to focus my career on dementia.

How do you feel about presenting at CAG 2021?

This is not my first time presenting at a national conference. I love CAG because the audience is diverse and people come to listen to your presentation because they’re interested in your research project. It’s a great place to meet/network with really interesting people.

What 3 key search words describe your project?
