Call for Participants- Digital Scrapbook Study

The DATE Lab is actively recruiting participants for an exciting project titled CIRCA.

CIRCA (Computer Interactive Reminiscence Conversation Aid) is an 'electronic scrapbook' containing a selection of photos, music, and videos. Past research has shown that CIRCA can be used to promote meaningful conversation between caregivers and people with dementia, ultimately improving the quality of the caregiving relationship. However, much of CIRCA's current content only applies to people living in the United Kingdom, British Columbia, or Sweden.

The purpose of this study is to adapt CIRCA to be applicable to a larger Canadian audience. New content will be acquired, evaluated, and customized to various populations, multi-ethnicities, and languages.

We are currently recruiting older individuals (60+ years) from Ontario to take part in focus groups to help gather ideas for content for the virtual platform which will later be used by individuals with dementia and their caregivers.
