Congratulations to Erica Dove

The Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) is Canada's federal funding agency for health research which helps support the discoveries and innovations to improve and strengthen the health care system.

While CIHR funds trainees at all levels of their education, the Canada Graduate Scholarships – Doctoral program is designed to provide special recognition and financial support to students pursuing a doctoral degree in a health-related field in Canada.

PhD student Erica Dove has been awarded one of these scholarships and we are so proud of her for this achievement.

Erica was selected from over 400 applicants across Canada for the award valued at $35,000 per year for up to three years. These funds will help Erica continue to advance her thesis work on balance and movement confidence in individuals with dementia.

Here is what she had to say about this award:

It is encouraging to have CIHR’s support. Falls in dementia are a huge problem, and there is a need for novel interventions such as games to tackle this issue.

We invite you to join us in congratulating Erica for this achievement!
