HELP TEST COGNITIVE APPS
The DATE Lab is inviting you to participate in a fun research study!
Different people have different needs, and we are testing the accessibility and usability of some of the most popular cognitive apps available on tablets or iPads. The main goal of the research is for us to learn about what you think about the apps: what you like and what you don’t like.
Duration of study: 2 weeks
Requirements: 60+ yrs, available to use a tablet for 2 weeks, available for 2 phone or Zoom calls (~15-30 mins)
Contact: If interested in participating, please email Yoobin Cho at yoobin.cho@mail.utoronto.ca or call (613) 986-7606.
FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS
What do I need to do?
Try out 3 different cognitive apps within two weeks. You will be given a questionnaire (digital, via Google Forms) to fill out while you use the apps. At the end of the 2 weeks, you be asked to provide more detailed feedback via phone call with one of our researchers
How long do I need to use each app for?
We will ask you to use each app for a minimum of 20 minutes each! Since the study is 2 weeks long, we would suggest trying one app every few days, while completing the online questionnaire between each app.
What kind of feedback do I give?
You will be given prompt questions during the call and on the questionnaire - all questions will focus on your personal experience while using the app.
What if I don't have a tablet?
The DATE lab will provide you with a tablet with all the apps downloaded and ready to go. If you have your own tablet, you will be given instructions on how to download each app during our first call.
Do I need the internet?
You do not need the internet to use the downloaded apps. If you are using your own tablet, you will need the internet to download the apps if you do not already have them on your device.
