Opportunity: Postdoctoral Fellowship
Shital Desai (SaTS lab, York University) and Arlene Astell (DATE Lab, UHN) are seeking a postdoctoral fellow for a collaborative project. The successful candidate will work with the PIs on developing prompting mixed reality technologies for people with dementia, including developing an understanding of sensory perceptions in people with dementia and developing machine learning approaches to generate appropriate prompts at the right time.
We are looking for a candidate with a strong background in human centred design methods and in developing prototypes especially in mixed reality environments. Knowledge of designing for dementia and technology is beneficial but not essential.

The successful candidate will be based at York University in Shital Desai’s laboratory, and there will also be opportunities to work in Arlene Astell’s laboratory (DATE) at UHN.
The deadline for the postdoctoral fellowship application is 8th October 2021. The starting date will be after January 2022 and is flexible.
