New Publication featuring Erica Dove
PhD Student Erica Dove, Dr. Arlene Astell and colleagues recently published a new paper in the journal of Machine Learning with Applications entitled ‘Automated recognition of individual performers from de-identified video sequences’. The paper examines the ethical implications of using video data with personal identifiers in research settings and discussed the use of a new framework to analyze human participant data by distinguishing between skeletal movements instead of facial recognition features in an attempt to improve anonymity.
This research is especially important for Erica’s PhD thesis work on the development of a virtual new exercise game (exergame) to improve balance and movement confidence in individuals with dementia and mild cognitive impairments (MCI).
