As the year comes to an end and the holiday season is in full swing, here at the DATE Lab, we take the opportunity to reflect on what the holiday season means to us.
While individual celebrations may vary, we all share the long-awaited return of the joy and magic of the holiday season. This month’s Coffee Chat series interviewed lab members to inquire about their favourite holiday classics and to learn more about their special holiday traditions.

I choose hot chocolate (with marshmallows), as I’ve actually never had eggnog before!

Definitely a white Christmas! Nothing makes me feel more festive than snow and holiday decorations.
Gingerbread house vs. sugar cookies
I definitely prefer sugar cookies. I used to make sugar cookies with my Mom growing up, so there are fond memories attached. I was never a big gingerbread fan. I would build the house as a kid, eat all of the candy, and leave the cookie to go stale.
