DATE Lab in the Media

UHN article featuring Dr. Arlene Astell, Erica Dove & Juanita Atton

University Health Network (UHN) is a public research and teaching hospital network here in Toronto. It is comprised of 5 hospitals including Princess Margaret Cancer Centre, Toronto General Hospital, Toronto Western Hospital and Toronto Rehab Institute– the latter of which is home to the DATE Lab office.

As Canada’s largest research hospital, UHN is a national and international source for new medical advances, education and patient care. To highlight all the important work being conducted across sites from over 5000 members of TeamUHN, the Research Spotlight newsletter is distributed bi-monthly and published on the UHN website for the public to access.

This past month, three DATE Lab members were featured in an article written for Research Spotlight! The article entitled ‘Giving Cues’ discussed how the work we do in the lab is helping improve the lives of individuals with dementia and specifically mentioned the work of PhD student Erica Dove on exergames and Juanita Atton’s work on the AcToDementia website!

This is a very exciting opportunity for the lab to gain exposure and recognition from the hospital and research community.
